Assist International completed the installation of a new Intensive Care Recovery Room at the Maaynei Hyeshua Medical Center, Bnei-Brak, Israel.
This was with the help of Rob Busby of Philips Medical Services, Becky Anderson, Cardiology Teacher from Carolinas Medical Center, Jim Stunkel, and Dr. Richard Gerber.
One of the founding members of Bnei-Brak was Daniel Pearl's grandfather. Dr. Liwer, The Chief Executive Officer of the hospital wrote, "Words cannot aptly express the overwhelming emotion one feels when much-needed help suddenly and unexpectedly appears from afar. All we can say is 'Thank You' from the bottom of our hearts. We consider your involvement and significant contribution an honor and a great privilege. At MYMC, our mission is crystal clear -- we are here to serve the community by healing, saving and prolonging lives, in the spirit of our tradition, with medical professionalism and the best resources available today. Special people like yourselves can make this goal a reality."
The project was funded by friends of Israel from California, Chicago, Illinois, and Mobile, Alabama. The Israelis Project Coordinator was Yisroel Stefansky of Israel. One of the project leaders was Rev. Aaron Fruh of Mobile, Alabama who initially requested such a project. For Assist International, it was a privilege to help the people of Israel in honor of the promise in Genesis 12:3, "I will bless those who bless you (Israel)..."
