Assist International in Mali:
The country of Mali is poor country that was a former colony of France. The country has a population of over 20 million with one teaching and referral hospital, the Hospital National du Point G Referral and Teaching Hospital of Mali, located in the capital city of Bamako.
The Intensive Care Department of the leading hospital of the country had only two working monitors for over 700 beds. With the help of General Electric, Assist International was able to provide for the hospital a fully equipped Intensive Care Department with a total of 17 cardiac care monitors, a new portable x-ray machine, a new ultrasound, a large supply of medical supplies and accessories and four wheelchairs from the Wheel Chair Foundation.
