Hungary has made the transition from a centrally planned to a market economy, with a per capita income nearly two-thirds that of the EU-25 average. Hungary has been listed as one of the 15 most popular tourist destinations in the world, with a capital (Budapest) regarded as "one of the most beautiful urban landscapes in the world." The country is home to the second largest thermal lake in the world (Lake Heviz), the largest lake in Central Europe (Lake Balaton), and the largest natural grassland in Europe (Hortobagy).

Assist International, in conjunction with longtime partner Salinas Valley Memorial Healthcare System, updated two Budapest hospitals. Their first stop included installing specialized cardiac care monitoring systems that can be used with newborns in the neonatal intensive care unit in the Pesci Pediatric Teching Hospotal. Here, doctors come to learn critical care for infants. View this video for details.
