Assist International in Turkey:

A separatist insurgency begun in 1984 by the Kurdistan Workers' Party (or PKK) has dominated the Turkish military's attention and claimed more than 30,000 lives. Recent attacks from PKK guerillas stationed in Northern Iraq have inflamed tensions and worsened diplomatic ties between Turkey and Iraq, as well as Turkey and the United States because of the perception of protecting the Kurdish fighters based in Iraq.
